The Maine Game Club is a membership based club where students who are interested in digital art, programming, and/or marketing work together to create a videogame/app that can somehow benefit a local community partner. We spend the year collaborating with the student chosen community partner before donating the product to them.
The end product will be a successfully marketed and fully developed video game and/or app.
Students will be programming in C# with the Unity Game Engine, doing 3D modeling in Autodesk 3DS Max, creating 2D art in Photoshop/Illustrator, and marketing their work all over the world. Participants will also be able to test for and acquire national based certifications in everything that’s being covered.
The Maine Game welcomes all currently enrolled juniors and seniors in the greater Portland area to sign up for the club. Admittance to the club is dependent upon school GPA, attendance, previous experience in curriculum, and individual merit.
Meetings will be held in Bangor and Portland.
BANGOR: United Technologies Center from 2:30 – 4:30 on Monday, Wednesday, and Fridays.
PORTLAND: Ci2 Lab at USM from 2:30 – 4:30 on Monday, Wednesday, and Friday.
